Reforestation of mining sites

The Moanda Integrated Agricultural Cooperative (CAIMOA) is leading the BAGOMBE Project, aiming to reforest at least 2 hectares of mining sites in Moanda from 2023 to 2024 to restore biodiversity.

Highlights

This reforestation project for BAGOMBE mining sites was set up to bring back biodiversity, especially the wildlife that have disappeared from these sites since the beginning of manganese mining activity.

Restoring Nature's Balance

SCOOPS CAIMOA is a cooperative committed to environmental conservation through the implementation of nature restoration and conservation projects, sustainable development through the empowerment of local communities and the establishment of more sustainable villages throughout Gabon, and ecotourism to promote local culture.

Currently leading the BAGOMBE project of reforestation of more than 100 hectares of Comilog mining sites in the town of Moanda, in order restore the natural habitats of wildlife, while reducing uncontrolled hunting by setting up cooperatives engaged in sustainable and environmentally friendly hunting, SCOOPS CAIMOA trains the communities of the town of Moanda and villages around in sustainable hunting, agriculture and agroforestry, and ecotourism.

They give the opportunity to CO-RESTORERS of nature who are urban dwellers from any part of the world who are concerned about climate change and wish to restore vital ecosystems without leaving their jobs, families and countries to support this eco-action by sending their financial support.
